We are looking for a Systems Engineer, to join our SysOps team. We seek a highly motivated and communicative person, who enjoys being part of our SysOps team and also collaborates, assists and consults with software development teams across the company. You possess extensive experience in the provisioning, deployment and maintenance of secure, highly available and fault-tolerant distributed systems.

The position

  • Deploy, monitor and main various systems and services across our geographically distributed datacenters
  • Proactively ensure highest levels of system and infrastructure availability
  • Work with our architects and development teams on cloud migration strategies towards AWS Cloud
  • Assist the development teams in the design and deployment of Microservices
  • Monitor and test application performance for bottlenecks as well as identifying possible solutions and working with developers to fix the issues
  • Maintain backup and redundancy strategies across our systems landscape
  • Work with our security operations team to implement security compliance and governance standards across the company
  • Participate in the architectural design of various information and operational support systems
  • Coordinate with external vendors and other company employees for problem resolution

Your profile

  • An academic degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or at least 2 years of experience working as a Systems Operator primarily on Cloud-based Infrastructures.
  • You have a firm grasp of the tenets of Site Reliability Engineering, The 12 Factor App and Architecting for the Cloud
  • You have an understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, and Firewalls) and network technologies especially as they relate to AWS
  • You possess a good grasp on fundamental security concepts with hands-on experience in implementing security controls and compliance requirements on cloud-based platforms
  • Experience with monitoring and auditing systems
  • Bonus points for knowledge of at least one scripting language e.g. Python, Ruby or Bash
  • Ability to collaborate with developers as well as with non-technical stakeholders
  • You are open minded, willing to share knowledge and looking forward to work in a team
  • You are fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Working experience with AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, Redshift, CloudFront, RDS, S3 and Route53 would be a plus
  • AWS certification (associate level) would be a plus
